Project Y!MBY Connect Day 2009 June 25, 2009 Download the Full Press Release (PDF) Project Y!MBY Connect Day brings together local private and public service providers and hundreds of volunteers in one location, for one day of coordinated services for the homeless. This event will provide homeless individuals with everything from- food and clothing to medical exams WE NEED Volunteers for the following opportunities:

In our ongoing efforts to end homelessness, the greatest advantage comes with strategic coordinated efforts involving all sectors of a community. In Hollywood, Project Y!MBY, (Yes! In My Backyard) has mobilized stakeholders to create a coalition determined to confront the issues and work together to end homelessness in the Hollywood community. The Third annual Project Y!MBY Hollywood/West Hollywood Area Homeless Connect Day will take place on June 25th, 2009 at the Music Box at the Fonda Theatre, in Hollywood. This is a one day service expo meant to connect homeless individuals with assistance and services. In past events homeless individuals have been able to connect to housing and support services including public benefits, healthcare, hair cuts- even foot massages! If you are interested in volunteering for Project Y!MBY Connect Day or would like more information, please contact sallye@epath.org, Y!MBY Business Roundtable The Project Y!MBY Business Roundtable steering committee in partnership with the United Way of Greater Los Angeles, has coordinated a summit to engage and educate key stakeholders in the business community about how to join local efforts to end homelessness. March 2008 In our ongoing efforts to end homelessness, the greatest advantage comes with strategic coordinated efforts involving all sectors of a community. In Hollywood, Project Y!MBY, (Yes! In My Backyard) has mobilized stakeholders to create "a coalition of the willing", determined to confront critical issues and work together to end homelessness in the Hollywood community. Hollywood Snapshot! Over 70 volunteers participated in a point-in-time snapshot of unsheltered homeless persons in the Hollywood region. In partnership with The Hollywood Entertainment District, LAHSA, Council District 13 and 4, The Hollywood Homeless Youth Partnership, The County of Los Angeles, as well as many other Hollywood stakeholders, Project Y!MBY brought together over 70 volunteers in a matter of two weeks. A testament to the dedication and commitment of the Hollywood community towards addressing the issue of homelessness. Data collected during the event (to be released mid April) will provide a snapshot of how many homeless individuals are sleeping on the streets in the Hollywood region.
