PATHFinders Job Center - PATH West Los Angeles

At the PATHFinders Job Center, we are committed to assisting our clients throughout their interviews and employment search efforts, as well as to listen to their thoughts and challenges. Together PATH’s residential counselors and employment associates work together as a team to ensure each client has the maximum level of support needed to succeed.

PATHFinders offers the following resources to clients:

Assessment

Each client receives an in-depth interview with an Employment Associate to determine his/her employment needs and areas of needed support to obtain and maintain employment. In the assessment, clients talk about their abilities, career goals, and previous work experience to determine what is the most suitable job for them. The PATHFinders team has the resources and experience to connect clients to the skills and opportunities our guests need to secure employment in their desired field of choice.

Job Preparation Workshops

PATHFinders' workshops are offered in a professional and friendly atmosphere that help participants by teaching communication and presentation skills while providing the knowledge necessary to successfully find employment. The following workshops are available:

• Resume preparation - PATHFinders employment associates help clients build an effective resume tailored to show a good match for the job searches by highlighting their relevant skills/qualifications in a visually appealing, easily readable format.
• Interview assistance - The Interview workshop prepares our clients to capitalize on initial phone inquiries from prospective employers, present themselves confidently throughout the interview process, and negotiate the best possible compensation package.
• Internet Assistance - Depending on the skill level of our client, Internet workshops are for participants who have an employment plan but need help with skills or technology in order to execute their job search.

Job search strategies

Employment Associates help clients develop a strategy based on specific tasks with deadlines for completion for each job search.

Aftercare & Support services

After clients have successfully found employment, PATHFinders Employment Associates provide on-going counseling and support to clients which help to maximize the long term benefits to both the client and the employer.
