PRESS RELEASEPATH Serves up 22th Annual Imaginary Feast
to Raise Money to End HomelessnessAcademy Award winner Hilary Swank is honorary chair...November 7, 2006 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(LOS ANGELES) - People Assisting the Homeless (PATH) has signaled the beginning of the holiday season with the kick-off of its 22nd annual Imaginary Feast, a fundraising outreach that will continue throughout the rest of the year.
Two-time Academy Award winning actress Hilary Swank will again serve as honorary chairperson for the feast. "The work PATH does is vital to all of our continued efforts to help the homeless," said Swank.
PATH was one of the first agencies to use the non-event concept to raise funds for the agency's programs, which serve some 4,500 homeless men, women and families in Southern California, making 17,000 service visits annually. While there is, in fact, no actual "feast," the appeal for funds is very real. Last year, PATH raised over $125,000 through the two-month fund drive to support homeless men, women and families.
Founded in 1984, PATH is a non-profit community organization that seeks to empower homeless people with the tools for self-sufficiency, helping them to find work, secure housing and obtain an array of social and health services to reclaim their lives.
