PATH Hosts Indian Leaders from International Business Council

October 2008

On September 29, three nonprofit leaders from India visited the PATHMall as a part of the International Business Council, a program of the U.S. Department of State. The purpose of the program is to familiarize nonprofit leaders from other countries about the role of nonprofit organizations in America, different management models, and the interrelationships between nonprofits, the government and the community. The leaders represented a diverse range of nonprofits in India, including the Credibility Alliance, Catholic Relief Services and the United Nationals Development Programme – Rehabilitation and Resettlement. PATH was selected as one of multiple sites the participants are visiting across the country. The leaders were impressed with the size and scope of services offered through the Mall, especially in regards to the Homeless Court and housing facilities. They discussed how they will share some of the successful concepts they have observed at PATH and the other nonprofits they visited to help enhance their own programs and organizations back home.
