PATH Partners welcomes Richard Bloom as Executive Director of Community Initiatives.

An attorney in family law, Bloom serves on the Santa Monica City Council as Vice Mayor, and previously served as its Mayor. He currently serves as Santa Monica’s delegate to the Westside Cities Council of Governments (COG) that represents Santa Monica, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Culver City and the City & County of Los Angeles. This State chartered Council of elected officials coordinates policy and advocacy on issues of regional significance, particularly public transportation and homelessness.

“We are excited to have Richard join the PATH Partners team,” said Joel John Roberts, CEO of PATH Partners. “He brings to us vast experience in local city government, community mobilization, as well as experience in addressing homelessness on a regional basis.”

In his role as Executive Director of Community Initiatives, Bloom will oversee PATH CONNECTIONS, a new PATH Partners community mobilization initiative. PATH CONNECTIONS will engage community stakeholders, including volunteers, faith groups, corporations, and elected officials in an effort to establish PATH Partners community mobilization and public-private ventures. "I am thrilled to come on board with PATH Partners," said Bloom. "This position gives me the opportunity to help galvanize key support for regional initiatives to end homelessness. I cant wait to get going!"

Bloom received a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley and Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California. He and his wife Robbie live in Santa Monica with their two children Zac, a senior at Colby College in Maine, and Emmett, a sophomore at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
