Tom Morello and Friends Kick-off Tour at PATH

April 2008

Tom Morello (guitarist from Rage Against The Machine) and friends kicked off a national "Social Justice" tour while learning more about how PATH is working to end and prevent homelessness in Los Angeles.

Inspired by their visit, Morello and fellow musicians--including State Radio and Wayne Kramer--saw first-hand how PATH helps homeless individuals and families access over 20 different social services through the convenient PATHMall.

Morello and friends were also able to serve dinner to PATH clients and had an opportunity to listen to many personal stories of homelessness in Los Angeles.

Morello led the lineup at Tuesday nights concert, held at The Troubadour in West Hollywood, with guest musicians including Slash (formerly of Guns N Roses), Janes Addiction members Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro, bassist Flea (of the Red Hot Chili Peppers), Cypress Hills Sen Dog and B Real, AFIs Davey Havoc, and many others. With PATH staff on hand, concertgoers were encouraged by Morello to not only donate financially, but also to learn more about the issue of homelessness.

In addition to donating 100% of the Justice Tour proceeds to agencies such as PATH, Morello is also using this opportunity to promote activism and raise social awareness among his audience and fans. PATH is deeply honored and thankful for the action that Morello and those involved in the Justice Tour have taken to help the homeless community.
