INTERN WITH PATHFINDERS

Research/Community-Building Intern

Background/Summary
The Job Center is constantly working to expand and improve our services. Some of the areas that we are working on include:

• Developing child care partnerships
• Identifying best practices
• Expanding our vocational training and adult education programs
• Surveying employers, monitoring labor trends and identifying key markets for our clients

The Research/Community-Building Intern will perform Internet research to identify best practices and potential providers. He/she will also contact various community agencies and go on site visits to evaluate other programs. The Intern will be responsible for writing up a report at the end of his/her term to summarize his/her findings and make recommendations for actions.

Responsibilities
• Perform directed Internet research.
• Network with potential partners and community providers.
• Going on site visits.
• Write a summary report that includes recommendations for action.

Qualifications
• Senior level college student majoring in a social science.
• Professional demeanor.
• A car to go on site visits.
• Clear, concise writing and strong analytical skills.

Availability/Hours
• Flexible

Minimum commitment
• 8 hours per week
• 2 months
