PATH HOLLYWOOD CENTER
PATH Hollywood Center
PATH announces the opening of a new type of emergency housing for homeless individuals in Los Angeles County, called Interim Housing. The purpose of Interim Housing is to provide safe, stable housing for chronically homeless individuals who are waiting for available long-term housing. PATH Hollywood links its direct street outreach services with access to resources to secure permanent housing for individuals who have one or more disabilities and have been homeless for either 12 continuous months or have experienced four episodes or more of homelessness in three years. Individuals will be referred directly from the streets to PATH Hollywood. People will receive a bed and meals, as well as case management and support services. This interim housing program will provide case management that focuses on developing a “housing plan”—an individualized plan that identifies barriers to housing, establishes personal goals for achieving an appropriate housing situation, and steps to reach those goals PATH believes in providing culturally competent, non-judgmental services, delivered in a manner that demonstrates respect for individual dignity, personal strength, and self-determination. Chronically homeless individuals often engage in behavior that makes them ineligible or inappropriate for traditional service venues, but PATH Hollywood addresses these concerns. Since 1984, PATH’s goal has been to transition homeless people off the streets and into stable, permanent housing by offering “A Hand Up, Not A Hand Out.” We help homeless people find work, save money, secure housing, and empower their lives.
