PATH - FAITH VIEW
Whether your faith-based organization has been serving the homeless for generations
or you're just getting started, PATH would like to partner with your group.
It has become obvious that to end homelessness in Los Angeles, social services,
politicians, the business community, and especially the faith community, will
need to work together toward the common goal of serving our brothers and sisters
who are without a place to lay their heads each night.
The faith community offers diverse services to the homeless to help them transition
off the streets. Spiritual counseling, a sense of community, and long-term
personal accountability are critical to helping people make it back into mainstream
society.
PATH, works together with local churches, temples and synagogues to provide
these specific services. The Faith-Based Homeless Awareness Conference, held
in the summer 2002, was very successful at opening a dialogue between the faith
community and social services, sharing resources, and realizing the need that
we have for each other.
If you would like to get more information on how your spiritual or religious
organization can get involved with putting an end to homelessness, please contact
Margaret Willis at 323-644-2200 or margaretw@epath.org.
